FLAG-ERA funding opportunities

FLAG-ERA is a European initiative to streamline the matching funding
that is made available by local funding bodies to support the
Graphene and Human Brain Project (HBP) flagship projects.

This offers both current and new partners the opportunity to apply for
funding in the context of the HBP. Some of the rules:

Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve at least
3 partners from 3 different participating countries:
Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands,
Portugal, Roumania, Spain, Turkey.
Half of the partners can be existing members of the HBP consortium.

One of the partners can be from a country that is not listed above,
but then it must already be a member of HBP and secure its own funding.

Proposals are called for the following topics:
Targeted Mapping of the Mouse Brain
Targeted Mapping of the Human Brain
Theoretical and Mathematical Foundations of Neuroscience
Neuroinformatics
Brain Simulation
High Performance Computing
Medical informatics
Neuromorphic Computing
Neurorobotics
Ethics and Society

Proposals are due January 27, 2015.
For Dutch partners, the maximum amount of funding is 250k.
Other partners have to consult their local funding body.
NWO has reserved 750k for the program.
